BENJAMIN CHUKWUDI UDE
A graduate of University of Nigeria Nsukka where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1990, Mr. Ude was called to the Nigeria Bar in 1991. After cutting his teeth in legal practice with the firm of Afekoro & Associates in Lagos during the National Youth Service in 1992, he joined the firm of Otunba O. Sotunde & Co still in Lagos in 1993 where he became grounded in litigation (civil and criminal) and property law and also acquired an impressive experience in commercial and corporate law practices.
The experience garnered in the last-mentioned firm was a major consideration when Mr. Ude was engaged in 1995 by the firm of Chief V. I. Bello & Co wherein the experience was complimented and expanded. He rose to become a partner in the firm and subsequently became the Deputy Head Chambers/Managing Partner in 1998. Mr Ude is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Nigeria). In 1999, Mr. Ude decided to take on greater personal responsibilities and challenges by setting up the firm of B. C. UDE & COMPANY.
CHUKWUEMEKA OKECHI
Mr. Okechi also graduated from University of Nigeria in 1990 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1991.
Between 1992 and 1999, Mr. Okechi had garnered a considerable experience in virtually all areas of practice which saw him working in three notable law firms based in Lagos, namely Phillip Ndubuisi Umeh & Co. Nnenna Ejekam & Associates and Otunba (Senator) Olabiyi Durojaiye & Co. Mr. Okechi holds two Masters Degrees from University of Lagos namely Master of Laws (LL.M) and Master of International Law and Diplomacy (MILD). Mr. Okechi is a partner in the firm.
CHARLES CHUKWUEMEKA AGU
Mr. Agu is a graduate of Law from University of Nigeria Nsukka. He was called to the Bar in 1995 and commenced legal practice immediately thereafter with the firm of Akeju & Co. based in Akure where he was exposed to both Litigation and Commercial practice.
He joined the firm of B. C. UDE & CO upon its inception in 1999 and has remained one of the most reliable senior counsel in chambers.
KENNETH CHINEDUM AGU
Kenneth Chinedum Agu graduated from the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 1994, proceeded to the Nigeria Law School immediately and was called to the Bar in 1995. He commenced active legal practice in 1995 while undertaking the National Youth Service Scheme at Ibadan in the law firm of Tunde Gade & Co. Subsequently in 1997 he worked with the law firm of S. A. Animashaun & Co still at Ibadan before joining the Lagos-based law firm of K. C. Okwu & Co where he worked between 2002 and 2004.
Mr Agu then joined the firm of B. C. UDE & CO in 2004 bringing with him a wealth of experience in regulatory compliance practice as well as commercial law, property law and litigation. He has risen to become one of the senior counsel in Chambers.
VICTOR DIRISU
Victor Dirisu graduated from Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo State, Nigeria in 2000. Between 2001 and 2002, he undertook and completed the mandatory National Youth Service Scheme and subsequently attended the Nigeria Law School between 2004 and 2005 when he was called to the Bar.
He joined the firm of B. C. UDE & CO immediately after his call to Bar in 2005. He has since become thoroughly groomed in general practice, particularly in litigation, A.D.R. and commercial law practice and has rapidly grown to be a very dependable counsel in chambers
JOSEPHINE AKETU-EMMANUEL (MRS)
Mrs Josephine Aketu-Emmanuel graduated from Ambrose Alli university, Ekpoma in 2011 and was called to the Bar in 2013 after successfully attending the Nigerian Law School. Mrs Aketu-Emmanuel started active legal practice with the law firm of Messrs De-vine Chambers in Lagos where she worked between January 2014 to May 2017. Her practice experience and flair are in litigation, ADR and commercial law, including information and communication technology law.
She joined B.C UDE & CO on 1st February 2018 to strengthen diversity in practice and outlook and has been making tremendous contributions to our drive to meet our clients’ needs satisfactorily.
